Participation - All middle & high schools are required to participate with at least (1) one choir and additional choirs may perform if space is available. Elementary school choirs are optional.
Entry Form - Directors complete & submit the entry form on or before the due date with a list of instrumentalist's names where applicable.
Buses - Fine Arts will arrange transportation to & from the contest site as indicated on entry form. Director's are reminded to secure "Parent Permission for Student Travel" forms.
Concert Repertoire - Music performed should be challenging as well as entertaining to showcase the student's talents. Mime & choreography may be used where appropriate, but slapstick routines are discouraged.
Equipment - A minimum of 5 sections of risers, a piano, choral shells, and director's music stand will be available. Director's must submit a "written" request for additional equipment needed. NOTE: Students may not move the piano!
Concert Dress - Choirs must adhere to district "Dress Code" guidelines & are encouraged to wear choir robes or the choir's concert outfits.
Concert Behavior - Students are expected to demonstrate mature, orderly behavior before, during & after their performance. Cheering & yelling are inappropriate any time in the building. Directors should have adequate adult supervision for the size of the choir(s). *Audience members are expected to also practice appropriate concert etiquette. **NOTE: All choirs should remain for the entire concert to fulfill TEKS objectives & as a courtesy to those performing.
Warm-up Rooms/Seating - A schedule will be posted after all entries are received. Upon arrival, choirs will be seated on far left/right sides of the auditorium until time for warm-up. Audience members may sit in the center &/or sides as seats are available.
Performance Order - Elementary choirs generally perform before middle schools. The order is determined after entries are received. If there is another school conflict, director's may request a special performance time.

Choirs exit the stage in an orderly manner after their performance & return to their seats in the auditorium (elementary choir usually exit to their bus).
NOTE: ALL times are subject to change!
Accompanists - Directors are responsible for securing the accompanists who may/may not be able to attend the warm-up if playing for multiple schools. Ample rehearsal time should be given if the accompaniment is elaborate & tricky timing.
